Who Are We?

Five years ago, the Greater Laguna Beach GOP (GLBGOP) was formed out of the ashes of the Laguna Beach Republicans. To distinguish us from that largely-defunct organization, just remember that we are “Greater”!

Definitionally, the “greater” part of our platform means we include conservatives and independents from not only Laguna Beach, but also all neighboring Southern California cities. GLBGOP membership is over 100 strong and growing since the November elections. Our meetings are enthusiastically run and attended and include dynamic speakers, representatives from organizations like Turning Point, USA, movie screenings and Christmas parties. Our website, as you see, is up-to-date and full of facts and meeting dates.

Let’s spell out who the GLBGOP is.

·        We loved Peter Blake on the council, and considered him the Trump of Laguna. Blake ran to control homelessness and reduce building overregulation, and he accomplished both.

·        We are MAGA, the true Republicans of 2025.

·        The GLBGOP helped elect Michelle Steel, and have supported Diane Dixon, Tony Strickland, and numerous city and school board candidates, among others.

·        We educate and seek candidates for city council in our target cities, and have hosted Laguna Beach City Council debates.

·        We support our candidates by walking for them, promoting speaking events, and running fundraisers.

·        We host Cocktails with Conservatives, another local group where like-minded people can socialize together.

·        We advocate for a localized version of DOGE for Laguna Beach, if not all Southern Orange County cities. There is waste in every city budget.

·        We want strong education and government out of our bedroom, classroom and parenting.

·        We support the MAHA movement.

·        We watch our tax dollars.

·        We support sensible modernization of Laguna and all coastal towns.
